Accessibility
Last updated: October 30, 2026.
I want everyone to be able to visit Galencaixe, discover my products and shop without barriers. Whether you're on your phone, navigating with a keyboard or using assistive technology, I want your visit to be as easy and comfortable as possible.
My commitment
I've built the shop with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, in mind, and I keep using them as a reference whenever I make changes or add new features.
That doesn't mean the website has official certification or that everything is perfect. I'm still reviewing and improving accessibility, and I'd rather be clear about what I've considered and what's still to do.
What I've considered
While designing and building the shop, I've paid particular attention to these details:
- Keyboard navigation: you can move around the shop without a mouse, see where the focus is at all times and skip straight to the main content.
- Comfortable reading: I've checked the contrast of text, buttons and other elements on mobile and desktop to make them easier to distinguish and read.
- Well-organized content: pages use a clear structure of headings and regions to make navigation and assistive technology easier to use.
- Clear forms: fields have labels and show error messages to help you find and correct any problems.
- Image descriptions: product photos include alternative text, so you don't have to be able to see them to understand their content.
- Adapting to your device: the shop is designed for mobile first, adapts to different screen sizes and respects your preference for reduced motion.
What I can still improve
Although I've spent time on accessibility, I know some areas still need attention:
- Screen readers: a full review using these tools is still on my to-do list.
- Older photos: some may have imprecise alternative descriptions. I'm reviewing and improving them.
- Checkout: I use Stripe to handle payments securely. Part of this process depends on an external service with its own accessibility measures.
- PDF patterns: many of my patterns contain photos, charts and visual instructions. This can make them harder to read with some assistive technologies.
I want to keep improving these areas little by little, especially anything that could stop you from viewing a product or completing a purchase.
Is something not working for you?
If you have trouble browsing Galencaixe, reading a pattern or placing an order, I'd love you to tell me.
You can write to me using the contact form, where the accessibility option will already be selected, or email me at hello@galencaixe.com.
If you can, tell me which page you were on, what you were trying to do and what went wrong. You don't need to know any technical terms.
I'll reply as soon as I can and look for a way to fix it. If the problem stops you from shopping, I'll try to help you place your order another way while I sort it out.
Thank you for helping me make Galencaixe more accessible for everyone.
