About me
Hi! I'm Vita, the person behind Galencaixe. 👋
I spend a good part of my day surrounded by drawings, fabric, yarn and lots of ideas I'd love to bring to life.
Galencaixe is my little creative universe, where I share my love of anime, video games, books and the characters that have been with me for years.
It all starts with an idea (and usually a drawing)
I love dreaming up characters and bringing them to life in different ways, from an illustration to a little doll you can hug.
Many of my creations start with a sketch. Sometimes I know exactly what I want to make; other times I change things along the way, trying colors, materials and little details until I'm happy with the result.
I also enjoy creating my own characters, who are slowly finding their place in Galencaixe.
Meet Moony 🌙
If you've had a little look around the shop, you've probably met him already.
Moony is a galaxy bunny, one of my original characters and Galencaixe's mascot. He likes to pop up everywhere and lend a paw whenever he can.
You can find him as a plushie too, if you'd like to bring him home.
My little workshop
This is where many of my ideas start taking shape.
I like working with different materials and techniques, so my workshop is home to sewing machines, an embroidery machine, 3D printers and plenty of other tools.
Some creations I make entirely by hand, others combine handwork and machines, and for certain products I work with specialist workshops that bring my designs to life.
What I enjoy most is seeing something that began as an idea become a finished product.
Between stitches and balls of yarn
Sewing plushies and crocheting amigurumi are two of the things I spend the most time on.
I especially love the part where the pieces start coming together and, little by little, the character I had in mind appears.
And even if a little doll looks simple, it can take many hours of work. For example, making a Jack Skellington plushie takes me about 9 hours, and crocheting Jiji took me around 10.
I also create crochet patterns so you can make some of my designs at home. They take time to prepare, with testing, adjustments, instructions and photos, but seeing other people bring my characters to life makes me so happy.
From my drawings to your hands
Not everything I make involves a needle and thread. I also love illustrating and turning those drawings into little everyday objects.
Depending on what I'm making, I work in my workshop or turn to specialist companies for the finish I'm after.
I like experimenting, learning new techniques and trying different ideas. They don't always work first time, but that's part of creating too.
Packing your order
One of my favorite parts is getting the packages ready.
I check, wrap and pack every order myself, taking care to protect everything so it arrives in lovely condition.
And of course, Moony helps too: you'll find his thank-you sticker on your package.
I want opening a Galencaixe order to feel lovely, from the moment you receive the box to discovering what's inside.
